Founder and CEO

Anita Broellochs

Anita Broellochs is the founder and CEO of Balletic Foods. Anita has a background in bioprocess engineering and has been actively involved with the alternative protein space since 2017. She has previously co-founded the SVCMS group, an organization hosting the Cultured Meat Symposium and the Cultured Meat and Future Food Show. Before starting Balletic Foods, Anita was the Director of Outreach at, a California-based startup building software for scientists.
Lead Strain Developer

Logan DeMott, PhD

Logan is currently the Strain Development Lead at Balletic Foods. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and is an avid KC Chiefs fan. Logan received a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri and his Ph.D. from UC Davis, with expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, and plant biology. He loves to logicize and strategize in the realm of entrepreneurship and innovation, and his professional interests include sustainability in food and agriculture, with a focus in biotech and cellular agriculture. When Logan is not working, he is likely woodworking, gardening, or playing with his dog.
Food Scientist

Faiha Larasanti

Faiha received her Bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly SLO, and through her time as a student and a worker has gained experience in many sectors of food science, including product development, quality assurance, and sensory science. Previously, Faiha has worked as a lab assistant on Cal Poly’s Sensory team, a product development intern at Lyons-Magnus, and a quality lead and production assistant at Etto Pastificio. She has a significant interest in creating sustainable foods and is eager to grow with Balletic Foods in its endeavor to create them.

Alex Shirazi

Alex Shirazi is a senior technology executive with a proven track record. He has deep domain expertise in alternative proteins, food technology, and brand marketing. Alex hosts the Cultured Meat and Future Food Show – a podcast dedicated to spreading the word about cellular agriculture technology. Alex has previously worked in technology sectors working with retail analytics, advertising, and brand design.

Alex Werff

Alexander is an experienced software engineer who is working on lab automation technology to speed up the Balletic Foods R&D processes, assisting with software development and building out the eCommerce platform. He has previous experience ranging from projects at Google to various tech startups across the US and Europe.
